A welcome opinion
SIR – Hats off to Judge Durham Hall for having the courage to state the obvious, which is that the new Ministry of Justice framework for supplying court interpreters through a private monopoly contractor is a complete disaster, and that the old system “worked perfectly well” (T&A, March 29).
No doubt the honourable judge will soon feel the wrath of the ministry for so plainly expressing his views, which are contrary to the official line that everything is rosy in the garden.
It is regrettable that ministers are unwilling to admit that they bought a pig in a poke.
