ALS Linguist: late, rushing to get away and unprepared
This Tuesday Winchester Magistrates’ Court had a Romanian case (the defendant was produced from HMP Bedford), where the ALS interpreter attended at 12:00 pm (she was booked for 09:30 am) and informed the Court that she could only stay for one hour! She came from London, without any ID or any form of ID, she only had an ALS timesheet! She also mentioned the fact that she had to be back to work in London at 14:00!
It is getting ridiculous and the plague is worsening and spreading everywhere.
Just a thought… I wonder how much this interpreter would get paid? Any ideas? By the way, they told me that the court officials refused to sign any of her paperwork.
