Waiting since yesterday morning for a Czech or Slovakian interpreter. Client remanded in custody last night when Capita promised to deliver.
By 16.00 there was still no interpreter & Capita could not say whether one might be here by tomorrow. Client already in custody for 2 days.

WestMidsPCC @WestMidsPCC
#pcctrust q3 interpreters - outsourcing of interpreting to Capita that uses "untrained, unqualified" interpreters. Will WMP reconsider?

At crown court. Vietnamese defendant, interpreter requested at last hearing on January 13. No interpreter here. Farcical stuff.
Judge Richard Bray on interpreter issue: "The company responsible is hopelessly incompetent. They are holding up court business day after day"
Judge Bray has requested a representative from Applied Language Services to appear in his court and explain the situation.
Needless to say, case going nowhere. Judge Bray keen to sentence and for Theresa May to deport defendant "if she gets round to it"
To correct earlier tweet on missing interpreter. It is Applied Language Solutions, not Applied Language Services, who provide courts
Steven Jonas @S_Jonas
Waiting all day yesterday for a Lithuanian interpreter.
