Capita encourages interpreters to accept new terms
Linguist Lounge has received the following email for publication on the site. It was sent to interpreters by Capita on 11th June, encouraging them to accept the new terms and conditions by 13th June. Considering that concerns have been raised among interpreters whether such terms are too stringent and some wishing to "un-sign" them, it will be interesting to see what happens if a good number of interpreters refuse to cooperate. Here is the text of the email :
"Dear P
Updated Version of our Terms and Conditions
NOTE:
If you have already accepted our new Interpreter Services Agreement please disregard this notification.
On Monday 3 June 2013, we informed you about changes we have made to our Terms and Conditions in order to provide interpreters with greater clarity and transparency.
The Interpreter Services Agreement has replaced our Terms and Conditions and has been available to access through the Linguist Lounge portal and on the Linguist Lounge website since Wednesday 5 June 2013. Interpreters who wish to continue receiving assignments from us are required to accept the Agreement online by Thursday 13 June 2013.
The key objective and benefit in revising this document is to strengthen our partnership with each other and provide you with greater visibility and clarity. We have also taken the opportunity to include information within the Agreement regarding the benefits package applicable to certain assignments which was announced on Friday 26 April 2013.
As one of our most valued interpreters, it is important that you review and accept the Interpreter Services Agreement, in order to continue to receive and undertake assignments on behalf of Capita Translating and Interpreting after this date.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Linguist Relations Team on [number withheld by Linguist Lounge] or email [address withheld by RPSI Linguist Lounge]
