Middlesex University and their role in MOJ Framework
ALS cite their use of Middlesex University to organise and conduct linguist assessments on their behalf. I also presume the University will benefit from providing the much-vaunted CPD that ALS promises to deliver. Not being someone who moves in these circles, is it the case that Middlesex University has an established reputation for provide linguist training? How do they compare with other institutions in terms of the volume and quality of the training on offer? Is Middlesex University at the cutting edge in this field, or are they just also-rans trying to make a reputation for themselves?
It seems ironic that having provided ALS with a smidgeon of respectability because the linguists will be 'independently assessed', Middlesex University is now being bypassed as ALS gives assignments to linguists without bothering to assess them.
