Prisoner's brought from Manchester to Aberystwyth and there's no court interpreter
On 20/12/12 at 14:00 I received a call from Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court. A Polish interpreter was required to attend as soon as possible as Capita/ALS failed to locate an interpreter after trying 17 linguists! The prisoner had been brought into the court by G4S from Manchester in the morning and the court was keen to deal with the matter that day.
I accepted the direct call and made my way to Aberystwyth where I arrived by 16:00. The court was very grateful and relieved they did not have to keep the prisoner overnight as it would have meant taking him back to Manchester and back to Aberystwyth the following day.
Imagine the cost!
