Happy end and lots of savings?
I attended Kettering Magistrates' Court, booked by CPS on 21st February. The court interpreter never materialised. We waited until 12 o’clock, then I was given the court claim form and told that I had to interpret for both parties. So I did. I had to speak to the victim first, then I went to the court room to interpret for the defendant. I had to shout across the court room so the defendant could hear while the witness was in a witness box. Everybody said it was something unheard of. The defendant was found not guilty, not because he was not guilty, but because the victim statement was taken without an interpreter present and was completely, absolutely incorrect. Happy end and lots of savings!!!
